7 Mac-n-Cheese Recipes To Drool Over

We’re big fans of macaroni and cheese. If we’re being honest, we could probably eat it every day with little to no regret. There’s just something about the gooeyness of melted cheese and the perfection of pasta. When they join forces, they’re like…unstoppable.

Also, it’s kind of hard to do mac-n-cheese wrong. Like pizza, there’s really no such thing as bad mac-n-cheese. Even Easy Mac is good.

But when you get that high quality mac – like the kind in restaurants that come baked, with buttery crumbs on top – it’s like sheer perfection. Luckily, you can get that level of heaven at home with some of these recipes that we found!

Here are 7 of the most mouth-watering mac-n-cheese recipes on the interwebs. Warning: you’re going to be hungry after reading this (we’re hungry just doing the research!)

1. Gnocchi Mac n Cheese

Yeah, you read that right. Gnocchi. And cheese. If you’ve never had gnocchi before, you’ve just caused millions of ancient Italians to roll over in their graves. You need to try it immediately. Recipe and photo via Gimme Some Oven.

2. Lobster Mac

What would a mac-n-cheese recipe roundup be like without a lobster addition – or “lobstah” as we say in New England. Lobster mac is best when you include buttery crumbs on top – they’re basically a necessity. Recipe and photo via Smells Like Home.

3. Butternut Squash & Kale Mac-n-Cheese

Mac-n-cheez doesn’t have to be entirely guilt-consuming (although we rarely feel bad about eating it.) This recipe throws some healthy additions into the mix – the butternut squash goes perfectly with the cheesy texture, and the kale adds a great bite. Recipe and photo via Sally’s Baking Addiction.

4. Fried Mac-n-Cheez Ballz

When restaurants have these little babies on the menu, it’s hard to avoid them. Luckily, you can make them at home and never have to take off your pajamas…or put on pants. Recipe and photo via Spicy Southern Fried Kitchen.

5. Ava-Mac

Rule of our kitchens: There are no avoca-don’ts; only avoca-do’s. Meaning, avocado has a place in almost any cuisine and any recipes. The best part- guac isn’t extra here. Recipe and photo via Joanne Eats Well With Others.

6. Gruyere Bacon Mac-n-Cheese

So, confession, neither of us are bacon-eaters but we know that we’re the minority on that one. Bacon is cool, bacon is trendy, bacon is “all the rage.” So put some on your mac: Recipe and photo via Damn Delicious.

7. Lightened Up Buffalo Chicken Mac

We guess we had to put a “healthy” or “light” version on here…sigh. But if anything is going to add flavor to a mac-n-cheese recipe, it is buffalo chicken. Make sure you have some water handy. Recipe and photo via Carls Bad Cravings.
