For National Day Of Unplugging: Consider Being Mindfully Plugged-In

Social media has undoubtedly become one of our generation’s biggest love/hate and most talked about relationships. We have memes poking fun at our inability to hold a conversation face-to-face because we’re too busy staring at our screens and texting our friends from across the room. And we’re surrounded by articles, posts, and videos discussing our levels of connection – or lack there of – due in large part to the role technology plays in our lives. Ironically enough, so many of the sources we see calling for us to put our phones down and look up at the world around us use the very means they’re demoting to advertise their message. Simply put, social media and our intertwined connection to it has become somewhat of a catch 22.
