Kidding. Kind of. While we’re all about celebrating the weekend, we’re not always up for ringing it in NYE style. That being said, choosing to stay in doesn’t have to be synonymous with an entire evening spent watching Netflix (although, that does sound nice…)
Here are our picks for things to do on a Friday night in exchange for going out:
MULTI COURSE MEAL
Skip takeout and get creative in the kitchen. Whip up an appetizer, main course, and dessert from your favorite Food Network show and enjoy leftovers for days.
THEMED MOVIE NIGHT
Cue the nostalgia and pop in a childhood favorite, complete with all the fixins’, ie: The Sandlot, s’mores, and your favorite baseball t, for-ev-er.
Rather than spending hours pinning aimlessly, legitimately plan out your next home project, browse and book your top travel destination, or pin away hairstyle inspiration for your upcoming appointment.
BRING THE BAR TO YOU
You know the cocktail shaker and fancy glassware you bought but never use? Make good of them and create your own signature drink. We like to think of this as the grown-up version of build-a-bear.
COMBINE YOUR (NOT SO) GUILY PLEASURES
Pack your evening full of your favorite everyday style indulgences, like a copy of this month’s Cosmopolitan, a pint of Cinnamon Buns ice cream, and a Hallmark movie marathon.
DIY PHOTO SHOOT
Get glam, break out the props, and watch those Instagram likes roll in.
Play the “FB” Like Game
This one is not for the weak. Grab a few girlfriends (or guyfriends) and load up FB on your phones, tablets, whatever. Pick a number. Let’s say it’s 5. Each of you have to scroll down your status and like the 5th stat that you see. It’s your ex’s? Too bad. It’s the girl you don’t speak with anymore? Tough sh*t. That’s the rules.
