8 Summer Date Night Ideas

Date Night

By De & Kate

We could write a list a mile long detailing all the reasons we love summer. Atop it, long days, warm nights, and easy entertainment. While the cooler seasons require a bit more creativity to map out an evening of fun, a barefoot stroll through the sand is all we need to satisfy our soul come summertime.

Join us in officially kicking cabin fever aside with these summer date ideas:

1. Mini Golf

Grab your favorite neon colored ball and club and hit the mini golf course. Or, if you fancy the long drive, hit up your local driving range. Topgolf locations are also quickly popping up across the US, offering a trendy way to get your golf game on.

2. Movie Night

But not your average movie night. Kick it like Danny and Sandy and head to your closest drive-in theater. Snacks, sunset, sold. Poodle skirt, optional.

3. Yard Games

Buy a set of bags (aka cornhole) or set up horseshoes. We classify these as games that go well with cocktails. So, you can easily entertain while sipping on sangria.

4. Homemade Ice Cream

Yes, this requires an ice cream maker. Yes, it’s worth it. We’re not sure if it’s the work that goes into it, the wait while it’s churning, or a combination of the two, but homemade ice cream tastes so much better than the store bought stuff.

5. Pick Your Own…

If you’re a farm to table fan, find a local pick your own orchard and stock up on seasonal produce.  And if you’re feeling extra ambitious, bake your own pie with the sweet summertime selection of berries and peaches. Enter homemade ice cream here.

6. Picnic in the park

Find the closest park to your house or apartment (and if it’s walkable, even more of a bonus.) Pack a picnic lunch (check out these recipes) and enjoy the sunshine.

7. Go camping!

Camping is way cheaper than any hotel, and a true bonding experience. Visit Reserve America‘s website to find the closest campground to your location. S’mores are required.

8. Take a yoga class…outside.

Even if you don’t consider yourself a yoga guru, there’s classes available for any level. Most cities offer outdoor yoga classes during the summer, but even if you’re struggling to find one, you can always launch a YouTube video and jump into downward dog on your porch.
