Weekend Recipe: DIY Apple Sunrise Juice

Since I reached my 30’s, I have been much more aware of what I am eating and putting into my body on a daily basis and I’ve been making an effort to eat healthily. I found that I was beginning to get bored of eating the same old thing, so I wanted to increase my food knowledge.

I started researching online; I would begin by looking up recipes of things with a certain ingredient I liked to see what recipes came up. When I found something I enjoyed, I would tweak it to suit my taste. Sometimes this worked really well and other times it was a disaster, but I guess that’s how you learn, and I sure have learned a lot on my journey to a more healthy lifestyle.

One thing I have been loving lately is drinking and creating homemade juices. With that in mind, I wanted to share with you one of my latest creations. I have called it Apple Sunrise. It’s lovely and warming from the hint of ginger but also sweet and deliciously refreshing. The perfect way to start the day!

 Ingredients:

  • 1 Apple
  • 1 Carrot
  • 5 Strawberries
  • 1 thumb of Ginger

 Method:

Add all of these to your juicer starting with the thumb of ginger to ensure all the ginger goodness gets pushed through by the other ingredients. Pour into your glass and enjoy!

Note: This tastes better if left to cool in the fridge for around 10 minutes before drinking.
