7 Lipsticks To Bring Out Your Inner Vampire

By De Elizabeth

Lipstick (and, let’s face it, makeup in general) can sometimes become a bit of a habit. It’s part of so many of our morning routines. We apply our light nude matte before going out to work, or dab a pale gloss after lunch. While day makeup is essential (for some), it’s not always the most exciting. Sometimes you just need a ~*fun*~ lip color. Luckily, dark lips are allllll the rage this season.

We’ve rounded up some of the best vampy colors on the market, from ones you can get at the drugstore (hello, Katy Kat Matte) to tubes that might cost almost a full one-hundred dollar bill. No matter your price point, you can rock the bewitched look in no time.

1. Katy Kat Matte in “Crimson Kat” (Covergirl, $7.99)

Probably the best drugstore matte lipstick right now, the Katy Kat brand comes in an array of shades. It won’t dry your lips out unlike other mattes, and is super long lasting. A ~steal~ for under $10!

2. Liquid Lipstick in “Potion” (Anastasia, $20)

The Anastasia brand is on the rise (if you’ve tried their contour or brow kits, you’ll know why!) “Potion” is a dark plum hue.

3. Silky Satin Lip Color in “Sevillana” (Christian Louboutin, $90)

Lol, ok, most people probably don’t have nearly $100 to spend on lipstick (and if you do, bravo), but we’re guessing the packaging alone is mostly what makes this tube so pricy. The “Sevillana” color is a deep burgundy.

4. Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Echo” (Kat Von D, $20)

Kat Von D’s liquid matte lipstick is another long-lasting type that won’t dry out your lips. Rejoice!

5. Lipmix in “Burgundy” (MAC,  $15)

This liquid color comes in a squeezable tube. There are many other colors as well, including a black and a blue.

6. Audacious Lipstick in “Bette” (Nars, $32)

Nars is a tried-and-true brand that you basically can’t go wrong with. Exhibit A: they invented the Orgasm shade. ‘Nough said.

7. Melted Matte Lipstick in “Who’s Zoomin’ Who” (Too Faced, $21)

While this color looks purplish in the bottle, it actually is a deep sapphire. If you can find an excuse to wear dark blue lipstick, by all means, DO. IT.
