The Agony of the Ticking Biological Clock: 6 Reasons Why I (Think) I Don’t Want to Have Kids

By Christine McLean

The questions began soon after I graduated from university. Where’s the boyfriend? When are you getting married? When are you planning on giving your mother grandchildren? What are you doing with your plans for the future? It never stops! Truthfully, I did have the answers to all of these questions by the time I was about 15 years old. I had a clear vision for my future. In my naivety, I figured I would complete my medical degree and  get married to my boyfriend at 23, have my first child (a boy of course) at 25, have my second and final child (a girl) at 27, and be well on my way to financial freedom by the time I hit 30. Such grand plans. Let’s just say that nothing in my life has happened the way I planned. Life gave me a slap in the face and said, “Wake up! That’s not how this is going to work!” Continue reading

I Stopped Washing My Hair, And I’m Obsessed

By Rachela Forcellese

I have thick hair. Not even regular thick hair. But like, “I shaved half of my entire head and I still have a full head of hair” hair. I am fully Italian – bred from beasts, and my hair has always been a problem for me and others. Once, I smacked my head on a pole and felt nothing because my bun was so thick it saved me. Hairdressers love to pull a big fistful of my hair in their hands and tell me how much I have. Continue reading

By Lianne Bell

Human beings can fear change; it’s all too easy to get stuck into the routine we call life. Before we know it, we’re suddenly afraid of anything that veers from the norm, but often, we require change to give our life a little zest. Moving towns, cities or countries can be both scary and daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Maybe we’re bored with our job, broken up with our boyfriend or girlfriend, or just sick of the same old scenery. If we embrace the change, it actually becomes rather exciting! Having lived in several different places around the world, here are my top tips for making friends in unfamiliar territory:  Continue reading

I Tried The Silver Ombré Trend – Here’s What You Need To Know If You Want To Try It Too

By De Elizabeth

In case you’ve been living under a rock, there’s a new ombré trend on the proverbial streets, and it’s none other than silver. A couple of years ago, #GrannyHair was making waves on social media, and girls all over the country were dyeing their hair grey – much to the surprise of older women who were routinely going to the salon to make their hair anything but grey. The silver/grey ombré is essentially a happy medium – it’s not a full commitment to embracing the full silver foxette look, but it’s a start. I saw it on Instagram myself a few days ago and knew I had to try it.  Continue reading

Kiss And Make Up Day

By De & Kate

Because there is now a day dedicated to celebrating everything under the sun, from ice cream sandwiches to miniature golf, we aren’t too surprised to find today marked as ‘Kiss and Make Up Day.’ That being said, in living alongside other human beings who don’t always feel, think, believe, and act in the same way we do, isn’t every day somewhat of a kiss and make up kind of day? Let’s Be Real

Willing To Be Seen.jpg

By Kate

I’ll be the first to admit that I love a good Instagram filter. Well, to be clear, I love a perfectly posed picture followed by a good filter. As long as I’m going to take the time to capture the scene and post it on social media, the sun might as well shine a little bit brighter and the cookies might as well be served on a pretty platter. Continue reading
