The Olympics are coming! Time to break out your red, white, and blue and practice the national anthem – America’s got some medals to win!

To help get you in the winning spirit, here are some of the top moments from the 2012 Olympics in London.

The Fierce Five Take Home Team Gold

We all know gymnastics is what the summer Olympics is all about. Watching the Fierce Five bring home the gold had us practicing cartwheels around the living room. Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, Kyla Ross, and Jordyn Wieber were great to watch, but we can’t wait to see what this year’s squad is capable of!

Two Words: Michael Phelps

The man, the myth, the legend. He won six medals in London, making him the most decorated Olympian of ALL TIME. Phelps will be back to defend his title in the upcoming Rio games, and the world is ready to watch him compete one last time.

World Cup Redemption for USWNT

I think we can all agree that the US Women’s National Soccer Team is composed of some of the country’s most badass ladies. Watching Alex Morgan’s game-winning, time-stopping header to send the US to the finals? Unbelievable. Seeing them dominate Japan in the championship and redeem themselves from the 2011 World Cup loss? One of the highlights of the London games by far.

The New Dream Team

Composed of NBA superstars like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, and Kobe Bryant, this 2012 squad was considered the Dream Team 2.0. Despite some close games, the team went undefeated and left London with Olympic gold.

Misty May-Treanor Finishes Strong

After winning in 2004 and 2008, volleyball super stars Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh were aiming for a three-peat. The stakes were extra high after May-Treanor announced she would be retiring following the London games. After a hard fought battle, they were able to pull out a victory against fellow Americans Jennifer Kessy and April Ross and sent May-Treanor out on top. After the game, Walsh approached opponent April Ross and asked her to be her new partner in the upcoming Rio games. This will be the first time the two have played together on the Olympic stage.

US Swimming Steals The Spotlight

It’s not just Michael Phelps that’s fun to watch, the entire US Olympic Swimming Team is filled with fierce competitors who add an extra element of fun and personality (just check out the now iconic Call Me Maybe music video from 2012). With talent such as Ryan Lochte, Missy Franklin, Katie Ledecky, and Maya DiRado, we’re ready to spend some quality time poolside and watch the US Team take home some medals.

Fired up? Don’t worry the Olympics will be here before you know it! Let us know what event you’re most excited for!
