Labor Day has passed and we are now preparing to bid adieu our summer whites and sandals as summer officially begins to come to a close. Before you start packing away the swimsuits and straw hats and picking out new cardigans and beanies, gather some friends and check out these cool and creative ways to give our favorite season the sendoff it deserves.

1. Rooftops and Frozen Wine

This summer wine slushies and frosé — A.K.A. frozen rosé — emerged as the “it” drinks of 2016, popping up on bar menus, Facebook video tutorials, and Instagram feeds all over the world. The mixture of fresh fruit, wine, and the occasional splash of whiskey or rum kept us cool and refreshed all through the warmer months. As summer comes to a close, it’s time to celebrate warm weather and our favorite frozen cocktails. Whether its hanging out at your favorite rooftop bar or outdoor gathering of friends in a backyard, Grapefruit Frosé, White Nectarine Frosé, Lemon Frosé, Strawberry Peach Wine Slushies, Blackberry Merlot Slushies, and Watermelon Limoncello Prosecco Slushies are sure fire ways to spread the cheer.

2. Have a dinner party.

With travel being at an all-time high in the summer months, sometimes you just don’t get to see your favorite humans as much as you would like. In celebration of the close of summer and all the adventures it brings, throw a dinner party to catch up on the different stories and lived experiences. Create a special Spotify playlist, create a signature cocktail for the night, tell everyone to bring the favorite dish, and prepare to have a grand time. Pro tip: Mail out invites, as opposed to the usual mass text, for that special personalized touch.

3. Three words: Horrible Movie Night.

You know those terribly horrible movies that you watch all the time but never tell anyone? You know, the Sharknado marathon you binged until 3:00am with no regrets? It’s time to have friends come over and introduce them to the amazingly terrible things in your Netflix queue!! Because there is nothing better than curling over in laughter at films such has Rubber, Krush Grove, The Trigger Effect, Snow in the Bluff, and Knights of Badassdom while enjoying good company. So grab some blankets, popcorn, and a box of your favorite candy and laissez les bons temps rouler!

4. Have a bonfire…on the beach.

Because some of our best summer memories are made at the beach, it is only right that the farewell festivities occur there as well. September – and maybe October if the weather gods play it right – are often my favorite times to head to down to the water. Beaches are usually less crowded, the humidity is lower, the sand isn’t blisteringly hot, and the lines are definitely shorter at the lemonade and chili cheese fries stands. Bring some books, s’mores ingredients, and your favorite campfire horror stories and watch the sunset as the waves dance with the sand.

Tell Us: What’s your favorite thing to do to say goodbye to summer?
