4 Valuable Things I Discovered While Creating A Vision Board

While cleaning out my closet over the weekend, I stumbled upon a box of empty picture frames. If I’m being completely honest, it was actually a box of frames and about 30 other random items, but for the sake of this article, we’ll focus on the frames. Most were still in good condition, so I knew I’d want to put them to use. That being said, we already have a couple full picture walls in our home, and rather than add to them, I was hoping to use the frames more “creatively” (I place creatively in quotes because I’m pretty sure I never received a grade above a B- in my art classes, so you can imagine how far my crafty skills extend).

I’m not sure whether it was the start of the new year or watching the episode of Fuller House featuring DJ’s ‘Things to Do Before Turning Forty’ board that first sparked inspiration within me, but whichever it was – I quickly decided how the frame that matched my office décor would be used. And with that, I set out to create my own vision board – less focused on ‘things to do’ and more as a means of highlighting my priorities for 2017. Creating Calm When Feeling Stressed

We all know that feeling of the emotional brink. Simply put, the ‘I’m exhausted, tears are coming, where’s the effing chocolate/wine?!‘ moment. It’s typically composed of a gradual buildup of personal and professional to-dos that seem manageable, until…they just don’t.

Feeling overwhelmed isn’t only fatiguing, it’s frustrating, because it’s often hard to know where to begin. While a 15 minute nap or hour of power yoga class is ideal, that’s not always an option in the moment.
