Once Upon a Time Recap: Strange Case

By Casey Rose Frank

Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water,”- Kurt Vonnegut

A few episodes into the new season and I’m already more pleased than with the awkward, forced storylines of the previous two seasons. When I asked myself why I keep watching even after some dismal writing decisions, I’ve realized that one of the biggest reasons is that every character is very clear in their want for something. Gearing Up For Gilmore Girls

Gilmore Girls

By Casey Rose Frank

Ladies and gentlemen, we are officially less than three months away from the new season of Gilmore Girls.

For many of us Thirty On Tappers, we quite literally grew up with Rory. I was the same age as Rory when the show began, I gained boyfriends and lost boyfriends like she did, and I left for college when she did, albeit to a non-ivy league university and with far less Lorelai panache, but still, we led tandem lives. By De & Kate

Real Life vs. Onscreen

If you’re anything like us, you’ve spent your fair share of TV time fantasizing about what it would be like to wake up with perfectly styled hair (no alarm necessary) and to have your morning coffee miraculously awaiting your kitchen entrance. But alas, our messy topknots and non-robotic caffeine sources serve as our ongoing reminder, onscreen life hardly equals real life.

And while we love watching reruns of Friends and SATC, we can’t help but laugh (and sometimes sigh) at the alternate universe of on camera vs. behind the scenes. Continue reading

Pretty Much Every Girl’s DVR Inner Dialogue

We’re almost out of the Winter woods, meaning we’ll soon be expanding our hobbies to include activities that involve willingly leaving the house on the weekends. But before we hit up hiking trails and ask to be seated on the patio at our favorite restaurant, we’re taking the time to document the months of January-March. In other words, we’re sharing our inner dialogue while watching quality TV. We bet you can relate. Continue reading
