Part of my New Year’s tradition is to develop a list of things I’ve learned throughout the past twelve months. Each year is different and filled with unique challenges and opportunities, and it’s nice to look back and think about what I’ve learned throughout the process.

2017 was no exception. Personally, it was a year of massive change on many levels, capped off with the birth of my first child. And for America as a whole, it was a shit show of a year with natural disasters, social issues, and political drama at every turn.

Today my sweet baby sisters turn 18. Even though I’m excited for them, I know how scary it can be to enter adulthood and feel completely unprepared.
